Well Walk Reimagined
An exploration of Studio Ash's design philosophy.
Well Walk Reimagined explores the relationship between architecture, natural light and materiality, revealing the full potential of a distinctive building once at the heart of Hampstead spa culture.
A shared love of vintage furniture informs an eclectic collection, chosen for form, material and individuality. A subtle sense of nostalgia runs through the interior, particularly in the Artona armchairs by Afra & Tobia Scarpa and a bespoke sloped-front sideboard inspired by 1970s furniture. Their familiar forms recall furniture from childhood and family homes without tying the interior to a single era. The sculptural curves of the white linen sofa bring softness to the Victorian architecture, while the pair of armchairs creates a more intimate moment within the openness of the room — a place for two to read, share tea, talk or simply pause.
Bespoke joinery and craftsmanship bring another layer to the interior. The sideboard is reinterpreted in dark timber and neutral textured textile — familiar in silhouette, contemporary in restraint.
Timber runs as a quiet thread throughout. Rather than matching, different tones and characters sit alongside one another, creating depth and rhythm. The coffee table captures this particularly well — the pure expression of its walnut slab and almost elemental form balanced by sculpted edges and a refined finish.
The result is an interior of quiet confidence — timeless, tactile and designed for everyday life. Architecture provides the framework, while a layered, curated interior brings personality, revealing itself gradually as daylight and sightlines shift throughout the day.
